I can understand there is no silver bullet in this scenario but what would you think is the best option for the U.S. to opt to ensure the best of both worlds. There is a big variable of Israel but discounting that what can the U.S. do to save the remaining credibility it has (if there is any).
sit down and have a really good talk with China to make Xi really happy in that Trump Xi summit which was delayed. then have a nice talk together with all the relevant parties including countries like Russia and gulf also. this is the optimal outcome but still China needs a lot of solid goodness. US has to pay for it.
Or US will need to send a lot of ground troops to really fight the hard war which I believe will be a much harder war compared to the Afghanistan one. soldiers will die and trillions of cost which could destroy the dollar also
About the ideal case, won't it be like the U.S. is kneeling down to get out of this trouble, I mean since the presidency the playbook was to be a bully so are you implying that they have run out of steam because of the current situation? What does this situation do for the strength of the dollar since it would imply that the U.S. is surrendering because of a fatal and un-calculated war. Is the U.S. empire ready for it and are the repercussions worth it?
I would agree with you regarding boots on the ground as Iran is a completely different ball game compared to the failed wars that U.S. has had, I don't think they would go that far.
